How to define your personal style?

Each individual has a unique aesthetic vision, a personal imprint that is reflected in their interior design choices. Understanding that our clients are often attracted to multiple different styles is an integral part of our approach, allowing us to create spaces that harmonize these influences to reflect their unique tastes.

The Power of Inspiration Images

Collecting inspiration images is a crucial tool in the process of defining your personal style. We encourage our clients to explore their preferred platform (Houzz, La Pièce, Pinterest) to gather images that capture their imagination. These visuals help us understand our clients' subtle preferences and serve as a foundation for a rewarding creative dialogue. It's important to keep an open mind and to communicate your findings and ideas freely with your designer. This collaborative approach is essential for refining and actualizing your unique style, ensuring a result that truly reflects your tastes and aspirations.

But beyond the inspiration images, it is crucial for the designer to learn more about the client's needs and lifestyle. By exploring these aspects of our clients' lives, we can identify which elements of the inspiration photos truly resonate with them. It's by marrying these perspectives with the visual inspirations that we can truly create a space that is an authentic and personalized reflection of the individual.

Take, for example, our clients for Cottage 2407, drawn to a mix of styles: the comfort and warmth of Scandinavian and Rustic, the elegance of Modern, augmented with elements of the Industrial style. By carefully examining each inspiration image and discussing in detail with the clients, we first identified the recurring themes and key elements to incorporate. The result was a space where the natural wood and soft textures of the Scandinavian style were harmoniously blended with sleek, modern shapes, punctuated by elements from the secondary styles. This fusion created a unique interior space, deeply resonant with the clients' tastes.

For this project, the process was similar yet distinct. Drawing from a range of styles from Mid-century modern to Scandinavian, with touches of Classic and Industrial. These inspirations, though varied, revealed a preference for warm, elegant spaces, defined by natural elements and dark colors. Sarah Brown Design took these disparate elements to weave a harmonious and coherent design. The result is a space imbued with sophistication, where design elements are carefully balanced to create an elegant and welcoming interior.

Creating a Unique Style

Our role goes beyond simply merging styles. We commit to creating a new, unique, and tailor-made style that reflects the identity and aspirations of each client. By listening to their stories, analyzing the gathered inspirations, and translating them into tangible living spaces, we create interiors that are not just an assembly of styles but rather an authentic and personalized expression of each client's personality.
